Ecoturismo Kuyima HQ in San Ignacio.Ecoturismo Kuyima Camp at San Ignacio Lagoon.Briefing on the whales and the rules for whale-watching.
Our pangas (boats) enroute to the viewing area.Every panga driver knows the rules for whale watching.A baby gray whale approaches one of the pangas.
A mother whale closes in for a nose-rub.The mother whales are 40-45 feet long and weigh the equivalent of about 10 elephants.Mom and baby greet the whale watchers with a spy-hop in unison.
Baby spy-hops to give us a looking over.At birth, baby gray whales are about 15 feet long and weigh about 1500 pounds.A baby comes in close to nuzzle the panga.
